After a nationwide campaign in Kosovo, to raise awareness about the opportunity for the empowerment of women in the energy sector, 28 successful Kosovan  women  applicants were chosen  out of hundreds of applicants by a panel of experts  of energy sector from both Kosovo and the United States.

The Women in the Energy Scholarship Program is project of Millennium Foundation Kosovo (MFK) which is supported by the Millennium Corporation Challenge (MCC), which aim is to enhance equal opportunities for women in labour market specifically in the energy sector.

The 28 scholarship recipients of the “Women in Energy” will begin their two-year courses in fields such as Wind Turbine Technology, Electricity Engineering Technology, Solar Energy, Applied Engineering and Power Plant Management. The scholarships recipients, during their two-year studies, will gain the practical knowledge to prepare them for employment in Kosovo's energy sector.
