Two Strategic Investors Fulfill Technical Criteria, Plan to Invest 225 Million Euros

Today the Inter-Ministerial Strategic Investment Commission held a meeting, where the requirements of two strategic investors were reviewed and the documentation was completed.

The Minister of Trade and Industry Endrit Shala, who is also the leader of this commission, announced that two other investors have met the technical criteria.

"Two additional strategic investors have met the technical criteria to move to the next stage of the assessment by the operational group that we established today with the decision of the Inter-Ministerial Strategic Investment Commission," Shala said.

Applicants "Solar Kosova 2020" and "KelKos-Energy Peja SH.PK" plan to invest 225 million euros in Kosovo.

"Solar Kosova 2020" plans to invest 128 million euros in the Municipality of Obiliq and "KelKos-Energy Peja SH.PK" 97 million in the Municipality of Peja. Both of these projects in renewable energy.

Shala said that due to the changes made in the sub-laws of the Law on Strategic Investment, Kosovo is gradually returning to an attractive country for foreign investors.

These two investments, which are underway and the investment of "SOWI Kosovo" L.L.C, amount to 394 million euros and are the largest foreign direct investment in the Republic of Kosovo.
